Why is Quality Certification Important?
When sourcing hardware from Vietnam, quality certification is a key factor in ensuring products meet international standards. It is also a mandatory requirement when exporting to many markets.
Common ISO Certifications
ISO 9001:2015 — Quality Management System
This is the most basic and common certification. Suppliers with ISO 9001 demonstrate they have systematic quality control processes.
- Percentage: ~35% of Vietnamese hardware manufacturers
- Certification Cost: 50-150 million VND
ISO 14001 — Environmental Management
Important for EU importers (requires compliance with RoHS, REACH).
ISO 45001 — Occupational Health and Safety
Proves the supplier complies with occupational safety regulations.
IATF 16949 — Automotive Standard
Mandatory for automotive component suppliers. Approximately 5% of Vietnamese manufacturers achieve this certification.
Product Standards
- TCVN (Tiêu chuẩn Việt Nam): National Standard
- JIS (Japanese Industrial Standards): Common for the Japanese market
- DIN (Deutsche Industrie Normen): German/EU Standard
- ASTM: American Standard
